Watch this movie and count the number of passes the white team makes (you’ll need java enabled and it’s a fairly large file.)
Once you have seen the clip and counted the passes, click on comments below; only AFTER you have a count. The answer will shock you!

Watch the movie again and ignore the passes. Do you see anything unusual? Something you missed when you watched it the first time?

I saw the guy in the monkey suit too, but figured it was a red herring.
I also screwed up your directions and first tried to count all passes (Noticing the gorilla) and estimated there were a total of 14. Then I realized there were two teams, black and white - and your directions - then I replayed the video and counted 14. I couldn’t believe my firsy count was that far off (and perhaps an optical illusion) and then I replayed and counted the black team’s passes - got around 19…
What are the ’stats’ on the exercise?

I think you’re supposed to see or not see the guy in the monkey suit, the number of passes are just there to take your mind off it.
