… to Cambridge

University of Cambridge

Folks,
I’ve been officially admitted to the University of Cambridge. I was offered admission over a month ago but wanted to break the news only when all the t’s were crossed. I got the final word today.

I will be supervised by Dr. Markus Kuhn and working specifically on hardware security research towards a PhD degree. Dr. Kuhn’s team is part of the “Computer Security Group” which is headed by Prof. Ross Anderson. This group belongs to the “Computer Laboratory.”

I am a hardware engineer with a strong interest in security and privacy. The combination of the two is a perfect match for my skills and interests and I am confident these will be very productive 3 years (the length of the PhD program) to which I am looking forward.

I’ve never been to Cambridge before and I only hear good things about the place. If you have any advice for me, as far as relocation matters, please email me or comment below.

Cheers.

Congratulations, hope to see some post while working on your PhD. A good news to forget about the dead pixel.

    Saar, Congratulations.

I know you’re going to enjoy the challenge of grad school that you were seeking at UC. I’m sure the experience is going to be night and day to undergrad. You’ll be missed here at X.

I have been to the Cambridge campus and it is beautiful – not only are you going to get a helluva education, but the atmosphere will leave an enduring stamp upon you.
